Careers Week

What an AMAZING week we have had for The Shires at Stretton’s Careers Week. We have visited Prince William of Gloucester Barracks to learn about life as a soldier in the British Army. We wore some of the clothing and equipment needed as a soldier, had a go at holding various weapons that are used and looked inside some of the vehicles. We visited the fire station in Oakham and looked at the equipment used and even had a go at putting out a pretend fire using the hoses. We visited Tesco and had a tour of the store and warehouse, including the walk-in freezers – brrrrr! We also had a baking lesson with Julie the cook to make oat cookies.
