Home News & Events KS3 Pupils Cultivate Success in Cedar Class Garden Project
KS3 pupils from Cedar Class have been carefully nurturing their own raised bed vegetable patch, and their hard work is certainly paying off! Thanks to the recent sunshine and showers in Rutland, the growing conditions have been perfect—leading to a burst of supercharged growth over the past few weeks.
The pupils have already begun harvesting their courgettes and marrows, and they’re eagerly awaiting their tomatoes to ripen to a vibrant red, ready for picking.
We’re also thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded £5,000 through the Outcomes First Group – Green Initiatives Programme. This programme empowers schools to launch sustainability-focused projects that engage pupils, promote environmental awareness, and support a greener future.
Our successful bid will fund the development of a dedicated ‘Forest Schools’ and ‘Farm to Fork’ learning space, offering hands-on, immersive learning experiences for all our pupils to enjoy.
